Business Operations

Business Operations (meaning internal operations and processes of any business)

Good order is the foundation of all things.

EDMUND BURKE

Let us be unusually candid today:

Operations management to me is not just a passion; it is my gift in life. I was born to do it. I can honestly say that I am a doer. I get things done. I attack problems like a relentless pit bull, and yet, I have a smooth and comforting touch and know how to put people at ease. I stay calm under pressure and my brain processes information like a supercomputer. Also, I am more than just organised. I am obsessive-compulsive about it. I am meticulous about writing things down and never let anything slip through the cracks. Creating systems and processes is more than just joy – it is pure love. Recognising hidden “holes” in a company and then filling those holes with my perfectly designed procedures is like an obsession for me.

Not only that, but I love to LEARN new things… my mind is like a human sponge that soaks up information – and then IMPLEMENTS it for the benefit of the project.

Furthermore, by this point in my career, I have picked up some other skills too…I have dealt with finance, and have a natural aptitude for numbers… I have dealt with external service providers and understand how to nurture those relationships… I have dealt with customer service, and know how to improve the customer experience… I have dealt with wholesale accounts, and understand why this area is so critical to the growth of any company… I have dealt with tech teams and understand the unique way tech people tend to think… and I have dealt with copywriters and designers, and know how to deal with “creatives” who think they are living Gods…

Not only have I dealt with all of these departments (and the unique personality types within them) but I effortlessly float between them – helping them coordinate, translating when necessary, documenting and improving processes, and above all else… crossing the finishing line.

I get things done. I have been around the block. Now, I am ready for the next adventure in business operations….
